Why Your Wallet Should Be British

My parents lived in London for two years and during one of our visits, I purchased a wallet.  I didn’t know it at the time, but never again will I own a wallet that isn’t British.  We came home from the trip and I emptied my original wallet of all of my bills, coins, and cards and began filling my new one.  As I zipped it closed, a miraculous thing happened.  Despite how full it was, not a single bill, receipt, or coupon I had just added snagged in the zipper.  Why?

The new wallet was WIDER than my original wallet.  British notes are taller than American bills.

Wallets made across the pond are meant to accommodate the bigger notes thereby leaving space to ensure my zipper slides around free and clear.  I don’t know about you but I used to constantly zip up my wallet and get the zipper caught in my money or receipts so this was life. changing.

The wallet from that trip has held up for years and is still in my purse to this day.  It’s made by Cath Kidston and is definitely treasured.  If/when it finally needs to be replaced, I have no problem springing for a little extra shipping to keep my bills from shredding.

Here’s a few that have recently caught my eye:
